STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI presents, one year after the first solo exhibition in the gallery, titled Vivono e lavorano a Roma a new set of multiple/jewels signed by NORDINE SAJOT from the sculpture’s series titled Ex-voto white spirit.

The series, realized in a limited edition, gold and silver made, is the exact small re production, of the large format sculptures. Nordine Sajot focuses on the representation of individual gestures that in the previous exhibition were portrayed in actions recognizable as marriage ceremony rituals, such as the clinking of glasses and the cutting of the cake, in this evocation,the objects are removed from the image in order to isolate gestures that are recognizable by our collective memory.

The upper limbs, focal points of the ritual gesture, are extrapolated from the image and they materialize into the “ex-voto” sculptures becoming pagan cult objects. The artist states that the shapes isolate and unify the body, the gesture, the object and the food, creating surfaces/sculptures that represent them. The Ex-voto’s silhouettes are isolated from the image in order to build a dialogue among them in the same way the different media with which Nordine Sajot produces her work do: videos, photographs, and sculptures created in different materials.

The jewels will be accompanied by works from the series Cultura Fisica, underlining the link between the sculptures/multiples and photographs.

The 9th April 2009 the complete jewel’s serie will be exposed at Spazio Fontana in Palazzo delle Esposizioni during the project DAB / Roma Designfor Artshop and Bookshop.
